Band Bio
It all
started in the gentile surroundings of the Royal Hotel in good old
Hexham, Northumberland.
Five lads who had nothing better to do but to form a band, and not
just any old band I might add.
A round (or two!) of drinks were bought, gear set up and
anticipation set in as they waited for the arrival of their
newly acquired singer. Talks had been held in the hard rock watering
hole, known as Trillians, in Newcastle
before hand and at the time a singer was the missing part of the
jigsaw so expectations were high.
He came into the rehearsal room, the band struck up "Killers". What
a voice! The rest they say is history!
The band
originally played songs from bands such as Sabbath, Purple and ACDC,
but it was the Maiden songs that really stood out.
The band was originally called Blackout. This band played such
venues as Trillians, The Duke of Cumberland and other local pub
gigs.
They also played some outdoor gigs supporting the likes of Bob
Catley of Maguum fame.
Every time they played a Maiden song people would remark how much
they sounded like them.
As time went on they decided to learn a full set of Iron Maiden
songs and to go out as a tribute to the band.
Names were knocked around for the new band and Gary came up with
Maiden England and it remains to this day.
They have gone on to play shows around England, Scotland, Isle of
Man TT races and Ireland where they always go down a storm. Since
then we have supported The Damned,Hayseed Dixie and in 2005 did a
ten day tour with the original Iron Maiden singer Paul Di'anno as
his band and also as his support band.
Maiden England play a full two hour Maiden set.
It has
now been seven years, they formed in 1999, and we are still going
strong now.
If you like hard rock and heavy metal and you are an Iron Maiden fan
who likes in your face delivery,
you could do no wrong but to check out Maiden England live on stage.
You won't be disappointed, I promise you!
